Hello Tiger Families, Smithville ISD will return to our normal schedule tomorrow, Wednesday the 22nd. Buses will run at normal times and all activities will resume. This includes our morning and afterschool ACE programs. Thank you!

Due to the forecast for freezing weather, and out of an abundance of caution for all students and staff traveling to school, Smithville ISD will be CLOSED on Tuesday, January 21st. This includes the cancellation of all UIL sporting and academic events. Information about the rescheduling of these activities will be shared as soon as possible. We will continue to monitor the weather and will send updates about the plan for Wednesday. Thank you!

We will have the results from our Mental Health & Bullying Awareness Student Survey, hear from our campus counselors about what they are doing to support Mental Health, and share community resources available for all! There will be concessions available on both days of the UIL Tri-District Meet. Items range in price from $1-$3. Please send money with your student if you would like for them to be able to purchase any food or drink items. If there are any changes to the UIL Meet schedule due to weather, we will communicate that to parents no later than Monday evening (1/20). #TigerPride

Hello Tiger Families! As the weekend approaches, we’re closely monitoring the upcoming winter weather. The safety of our staff and students is our top priority. In the event of inclement weather conditions, we will make a decision about school resuming on Tuesday no later than 5pm on Monday (1/20). Notices will be sent out via email, phone call, text, and will be posted on our website and social media. Stay safe, warm, and enjoy the weekend!

SJHS and SES are excited to be hosting the Tri-District UIL meet again this year! 2nd-8th grade students from Smithville ISD will compete against La Grange and Giddings in several academic UIL events. Writing events will be completed next Tuesday, January 14th, during class. Students participating in Art, Impromptu Speaking, Maps Graphs & Charts, Mathematics, Listening Skills, Modern Oratory, Music Memory, Spelling & Science will compete on Tuesday January 21st at Smithville Junior High. Students participating in Calculator, Number Sense, Dictionary Skills, Oral Reading, Storytelling, Social Studies, and Chess Puzzle Solving will compete on Monday, January 27th at Smithville Junior High. More information will be sent home about these events, but please wish all our students GOOD LUCK as they prepare and compete! #TigerPride

SES is so excited about our upcoming Holiday Sing-Along! 🎼 This event is designed as a special in-school celebration for students and staff only to foster a sense of community and togetherness within the school. It will be a full house with all 750-plus 1st-5th grade students! We appreciate your understanding and support as we create this fun and meaningful experience for our students. Be sure to ask your child about it afterward—they’ll love sharing their favorite moments with you! Thank you for being such an amazing part of the SES community. 💙

Don't forget that this Thursday, December 19th, is the last day of school before the Winter Break. Friday, December 20th, is a staff workday. Staff will return to school on Monday, January 6th, and students will return on Tuesday, January 7th. Have a safe and happy holiday!

Good morning, Tiger Families! Please review the flyer regarding the BP & SES Coat Drive. If you have a PreK-5th Grade student who is in need of a winter coat and would like for their name to be considered to receive a coat, please fill out the form by going to the URL shown on the flyer. Coats will be delivered after the winter break. Reminder: Our 1st graders' holiday program is tomorrow, December 11th, at 2:30 pm in the Main Cafeteria. Please bring your state-issued ID.

Our SES 3rd-5th grade students did an amazing job on their Science Fair Projects. We had 170 projects submitted. Judging is ongoing and the winners will be announced sometime this week! We are so proud of their hard work!
