The theme this year is also a reminder: safety doesnโt begin or end with the bus ride. Itโs about Safety at Every Stopโfrom the moment a child leaves their front door to the time they return home.
๐ Stay alert. - Slow down in school zones and neighborhoods.
๐ Stop for the bus. - Obey the stop-arm law every timeโno exceptions.
๐ Support accountability. - Technology and enforcement work hand in tandem to change driver behavior.
๐ Raise awareness. - Share facts, resources, and personal stories that open eyes and change hearts.
Let's all help keep our buses a safe place for our students!

๐๐September Board Recap๐๐
See the highlights from our September School Board meeting

Each year, during the week that includes September 17, Texas schools honor Celebrate Freedom Week to highlight the values and ideals on which the United States was founded as well as the sacrifices that were made for freedom in the founding of the country.
Students learn about the intent, meaning, and importance of the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, including the Bill of Rights, and examine the relationship between the ideas in these documents and subsequent American history.

Smithville ISD honors those who lost their lives and the heroes who saved so many on September 11, 2001.
We will always remember...
