Read Across America
Dear Smithville Elementary Families, As we prepare for upcoming state assessments, Smithville Elementary will operate as a closed campus on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday to ensure a secure and distraction-free testing environment for our students. On these days: • No lunch visitors will be permitted. • No classroom visits will be allowed. • Volunteer activities will be paused. We appreciate your understanding and support as our Tigers work hard to show what they have learned. Creating a quiet and focused atmosphere is one of the best ways we can help them be successful. Thank you for partnering with us and encouraging your child to do their very best! If you have any questions, please contact the front office.

Hello Tiger Family,

Out of an abundance of caution for the extreme freezing temperatures expected in the morning, Smithville ISD will delay school start times on Tuesday, January 27th by two hours. Buses will run two hours behind the normal schedule, and the start times for campuses will be as follows:

BP - 9:55am
SES - 9:45am
JH - 10:00am
SHS - 9:55am
Tiger Academy/DAEP - 9:50am

All after school activities will continue as scheduled. We encourage everyone to use their best judgement and caution getting to school and look forward to seeing you all tomorrow.

Thank you!

Tiger Family,

Smithville ISD will be closed on Monday, January 26th, due to continued freezing temperatures and concerns regarding the safety of our area road conditions. This closure includes the cancellation of all school events and practices.

We will remain in close contact with area emergency management teams and local meteorologists to monitor conditions. You will continue to receive timely updates through our website, social media, and email/text notifications regarding Tuesday's status and any additional weather-related changes.

Stay warm and safe.
